We are fully licensed and insured by Kentucky State Household Good Carrier license, DOT regulations and locally insured for liability to furniture and persons.

We do offer free on-site estimates so you can thoroughly identify all items that need to be move – including the basement and the attic. The goal of an in-home estimate is to provide as accurate a figure as possible with regards to your moving expense.

The best time to move is when it’s right for you. However, there are some times of the year that are busier for the moving industry than others. The summer months (May – September) and the end of each month are periods of heavier demand.

Depending on the item. Our packers are carefully trained in wrapping, padding, bubble wrapping any fragile items for the move. Pianos and grandfather clocks are padded by the movers. The inner workings are always removed for grandfather clocks. The customer would need a professional clock smith to adjust the weights after the move.

All furniture is pad wrapped and carefully secured with straps on the truck. We use a special gun safe dolly for large safes (300lbs and up). If customers have new or particularly soft wood floors, they are encouraged to get ply wood or something to protect their floors. * The FMC does not take liability for damage to any flooring, as the weight of a piano or gun safe can cause indentations and/or impressions, that are out of the crews control when a dolly is needed.

Movers are trained in safety and train under the supervision of seasoned professionals for several months to learn how to lift, load, pad, and strap customers items appropriately to ensure the most secure arrival.

We have a fleet of six 26ft box trucks and 1 semi tractor and 2 trailers for larger moves. We have lift gates on a few trucks and ramps on all trucks.

We ask for 48 hour notice for cancellation or rescheduling. A deposit is required for moves. This deposit will be deducted from the final moving expenses. This deposit is refundable if changes are made 48 hours prior to 8:00 am on the scheduled move date.

Most typical family home moves start at 8:30am. Movers arrive and do a walk through. They will start with disassembly of beds. A crew member usually stays in the truck and is the loader. He pads, straps, and creates floor to ceiling walls using every inch of the trucks space. The other crew members bring him what he needs to load. Most typical mid-sized homes are loaded before noon. If a customer is well packed and prepared, a 26ft trucks usually only takes about 3 hours to load. Once the crew has finished loading, they typically break for lunch on the way to the unload. A typical move only takes 2-3 hours to unload. The movers will set furniture and boxes in the designated rooms. The movers will also reassemble beds.

We move rain or shine. If there is city school closings because streets are unsafe we may have to reschedule to the next available day the customer is able to reschedule.

Our office staff knows that all moves are unique. Some moves are sensitive. Death of a family member or divorce. We stay in constant contact with the customer and handle every situation with care. If there are special situations that require coordination we will plan ahead with the customer and do an in person walk through.
